Does God exist?
I am a firm believer in a personal God. Not personal in that I make
up what he is, but personal in that he gets involved with the world and
people he created. Why do I believe in such a being? Because I see the
order of nature. I see how everything works together, and I think how
unlikely it is that any of this should come about randomly. It seems
to me that the natural path is to that of disorder, and not to order.
The only way for disorder to become order is for a higher order to make
it so, for example, arranging Lincoln logs to form a house, or letters to
form a book. I also see how those people who follow the God of Israel can
have a joy that doesn't depend on circumstance. Surely there is one who
comforts them and blesses them. It is true I have not physically seen God,
and that nobody alive has seen Him personally, yet I feel my belief is
rational, and I can see God in a deeper way, a very personal way.
